Printing Terminology
What is a PMS color and does it cost more charge?
PMS or Pantone Matching System colors are specialized ink that allows you to choose the EXACT color of your imprint based on a 3-4 digit color system. Companies typically use PSM color(s) in their logos and print standards to ensure their brand colors are exactly the same in all printed materials regards of the vendor or equipment used. Some promotional product imprints cost more to have an exact PMS color match. Manufacturers generally charge a fee to mix the ink to match the exact PMS color. When an exact match is not critical, PSM color matching charges can be avoided by using the stock colors listed on the product imprint page.
